Make Wake Marine has now had the privilege of helping Make-A-Wish Alabama complete three boat giveaways for Alabama families. Each delivery has been different, but every one has shared the same purpose: creating more opportunities for a child and family to spend meaningful time together on the water.
A boat wish requires more than finding the right vessel. It takes coordination among the family, Make-A-Wish staff, donors, event partners and marine professionals who can help make sure the boat is properly prepared for the way the family will use it. Our contribution has been to bring practical dealership and service experience to that process and help the final handoff feel as special as the wish itself.
Along the northern Gulf Coast, time on the water is woven into family life. A pontoon can become a quiet place to reconnect, a platform for a first fish, or simply a reason to gather for an afternoon on Mobile Bay, the Eastern Shore or one of Alabama’s many inland waterways. Those ordinary-looking days can become extraordinary memories.
The public celebrations—from a balloon-filled boat presentation to the Kids Win Fishing Tournament at The Wharf—show what can happen when local businesses and community organizations work toward one goal. Behind each photograph are many hours of planning and many people choosing to contribute what they do best.
We are proud that our relationship with Make-A-Wish Alabama has reached three completed boat wishes, and we hope there will be more opportunities to help. Supporting these families is one of the clearest examples of what “community” means to our team: using our work, our experience and our love of the water to help create something lasting.
