Built for the Shallows: A Customized 2027 Delta D18

After trading in his Sea Pro, this customer worked with Make Wake Marine to build a Delta D18 around his dream of inshore fly fishing.

A new boat can be more than an upgrade. For this customer, trading in his Sea Pro was the first step toward building a skiff around his favorite kind of fishing: inshore fly fishing.

We outfitted this 2027 Delta D18 with practical tools for navigating shallow water, positioning quietly, and making the most of a day on the flats. A 10-inch Garmin GPSMAP with transducer provides on-water electronics, while a Garmin Kraken trolling motor on a Power-Pux mount gives the boat a dedicated platform for controlled fishing.

The setup also includes a 4-inch setback manual jack plate, a 6-foot Power-Pole with bracket, and a Stiffy push pole with mounts. Lenco Lectrotabs on the transom add trim control, and a 105Ah Millertech lithium battery supports the boat’s electrical setup.

The result is a clean, purpose-built Delta D18 tailored to its owner’s vision of a dream inshore fly-fishing skiff.
