In spring 2024, Make Wake Marine welcomed a very special family for a delivery that meant far more than handing over the keys to a boat. Working with Make-A-Wish Alabama, our team helped prepare a family pontoon so a deserving young person and the people closest to her could spend more time together on the water.
Our role centered on the practical marine details that make a wish like this ready for real family use. The boat was prepared and presented with the care we would want for our own families, then dressed for the occasion with balloons and Make-A-Wish’s unmistakable “Your wish is granted” banner.
Along the Alabama Gulf Coast, a boat can become a gathering place—somewhere a family can slow down, explore local bays and rivers, fish together, or simply enjoy an afternoon away from appointments and everyday pressures. That is what made this project so meaningful to our crew: the finished product was not only a boat, but an invitation to make memories.
We were honored to work alongside Make-A-Wish Alabama on this delivery and grateful to everyone who helped bring it together. It also marked another step in a relationship that has now allowed Make Wake Marine to assist with three boat wishes for Alabama families.
